You never know how hard it is to talk about yourself until you have to introduce yourself on these ‘about me’ pages. I’ll just pretend we’re sitting in Starbucks talking to each other…
Hi, I’m Tamidra. I am an inspirational writer, and most people who are somewhat familiar with my writing know me as T.S. Wilkins. If you’re wondering, my full name is Tamidra Shicarol Wilkins. I’m not named after anyone, and I’m not quite sure where my name came from except for the fact that my mother is just a creative person. But what I do know is that most people have difficulty pronouncing my name and remembering it, so I refer to myself by my initials when writing.
I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to make life more complicated than what it already is, so I enjoy the simplicity of life, the laughter of life, the beauty, the love, the peace, my family, my friends, and the inspiration found within the day to day moments of life. I do not ignore the reality of life, I simply learn from it. I believe what I believe, but I am always interested in what other people believe and how they view life. I enjoy learning from others, even if we disagree. It’s a big world, and I find it fascinating.
My main goal in life is to build an inspirational empire which I work on every single day in the form of my small company, Passion’s Chariot, LLC. I started Passion’s Chariot, LLC in June of 2011 as a way to create and publish all of my inspirational projects. I am constantly working on inspirational projects to share with the world, and I am constantly working with other creative minds to accomplish great tasks because inspiration takes teamwork! But many entrepreneurs also have day jobs, so I am fortunate to be in a position where I can work with my community to enrich the lives of people and children that I cross paths with, and to use my talents and experience to inspire children and to teach them to be our future leaders (that’s a really long, grammatically incorrect sentence, I know lol).
I have worked in different positions where I have seen children in the worst of situations that no child should be in. I have seen families struggle so hard just to make it from one day to the next, and I have had to try to comfort people through the hardest times in their lives, and I’ve spent countless hours trying to help people make better decisions. Now in my career path, I focus more so on making sure the children in my community are heading down a path of being absolutely all that God has created them to be, and to make sure they know that they are our future leaders and that they can be our future leaders. All children, regardless of their backgrounds, regardless of their current circumstances, regardless of anything should have an opportunity to know how great they are. It’s the same with adults, so I always try my very best to create inspirational projects to inspire everyone (children, teens, adults) to live life to its fullest, and to share all of your positive gifts and talents with the world.
I graduated from the historic Limestone College in Gaffney, SC with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. I also graduated from the beautiful Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA with a Master of Arts in Human Services: Executive Leadership. But what I’ve learned from life never came from a classroom. It never came from having degrees. Learning about life comes from living life and making an effort to learn from every situation, every person you come across, every stumble, and every obstacle. You have to learn to overcome, to choose your battles wisely, to choose your friends wisely, to get up again, to make better decisions, to dream big, to have faith, to build with the stones life throws at you, and to keep moving forward.
But at the end of the day, I just thank God for His mercy and grace. I’m not a perfect person. I’m far, far, far away from being perfect….so far away that I’ll never reach that level. I’m just someone who is trying to be the best person I can be, and to inspire others along the way. I’m learning too. I’m a work in progress too. But, together we can make a great difference in our world!
That’s me! Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me about yourself.
